Basic Tools

There are some pretty basic tools used for creating seed bead projects. 

1. Toho's Delica beads are by far the easiest beads I have found to work with due to their uniform size and shape. (your pattern will not come out right if your beads are not uniform.)  They come in several different sizes, however, most of my projects are created using a size 11.  
2. Beading needles come in 3 different sizes 10, 11, and 12's.  The thickness of the thread and beads will determine the  size of the needle you use.  I prefer to use a size 10. 
3.  Next you need thread.  There are several types of threads out there.  Fireline makes a good thread, however, I prefer to use Nymo beading thread. 
4. You will need a small matt to spread your beads on.
5. And of course you need a pattern.  There are several resources on the internet to provide you with purchased and free patterns. (check out the links section) 
6. Last but not least  bring your patience.  Beading is simply sewing beads using specific stitches to form a pattern.  It is very relaxing but it can be very time consuming.
